opportunities for students

Fostering interest in
Legal and Constitutional History

We see part of our responsibility as a research project to foster a future generation of scholars and educators with an interest in constitutional and legal history. Since the very earliest model of the 1787 constitutional convention, Dr Cole has therefore encouraged students to be part of the project, whether on summer internships or placements between degrees.

For students in the humanities, short-term internships with a project like Quill offer an invaluable opportunity for exposure to digital techniques and the problems of collecting, curating, analyzing and presenting information.  For students with a background in computer science (such as in visualization, interface design or artificial intelligence), internships offer an opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment and gain an insight into the needs of researchers and educators in the humanities.

Our longer term ambition is to be able to provide funded studentships which would allow doctoral students to work  alongside academic staff over an extended period of time.
